Waste, water and Energy management are becoming more and more a central theme in the global debate in social, economical and political levels. The evolution of the environmental concept is expanding from resources management to sustainable companies’ production. For this reason, companies are more and more focused in directing their plans and processes in different sectors of application: from chemistry to the pharmaceutical industry, from textile to agro-food industry, design and furniture, to reuse materials from industrial reconversion.
Products and materials reduction, reuse and recovery: the hierarchy in waste management focuses the attention earlier in the production process, where changes and innovations can be made, so as water and energy saving.
New European politics for products stimulate research, chemistry and entrepreneurial sectors to reach industrial models already in use, which are based on the concept of “closed industrial systems”, with maximum limitation of waste immition in the environment in perfect de-coupling between economical development and resources exploitation.(Europe 2020).
The European commission proposes 5 guidelines to relaunch the development process, which concern: employment, research and innovation, climate change and energy, instruction and fight against poverty. Those priorities “represent the direction to follow” and are the main theme which will help us to evaluate our results. EU goal is to become an intelligent, sustainable and solid economy. |
